In this era of connectivity and computational power, we are definitely at a stage where the Provenance of the products we use and the products we make should be available to all.
Public Infrastructure
The Provenance feature will be a public infrastructure so that everyone is able to verify the products they are using. At the same time, privacy is ensured if anyone wants to connect to private channel rather than the public channel.
Powered by Hyperledger Fabric
The blockchain powering this provenance public infrastructure is powered by open source HyperLedger Fabric using RAFT as consensus algorithm currently. This also leads to nil minting charges. Any organization can apply to join the public channel or create a private channel also, while maintaining communication with public channel.
